Acquisition Will Aid VSNL’s Strategy to be a One-Stop Telecommunications Provider for Global Businesses

NEW YORK, /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) (NYSE: VSL — News), India’s leading provider of international telecommunications and Internet services, today announced that the company has agreed to acquire Tyco Global Network, one of the world’s most advanced and extensive submarine cable systems for $130 million. The acquisition, which remains subject to government approval in the United States, India and other countries, would give VSNL control over a network that spans 60,000 kilometers (37,280 miles) and three continents.

CALGARY, AB (MARKET WIRE) Cybersurf Corp. («Cybersurf» or the «Company») (TSX-V: CY), one of Canada’s leading Internet technology and service companies, today announced the results of the Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders held on October 29, 2004. Approximately 68% of the outstanding shares were represented in person or by proxy at the meeting, constituting a quorum. Shareholders re-elected James Milliken, Paul Mercia, Roy Graydon and Jay Roberge to the Board of Directors, and appointed Deloitte & Touche LLP as auditors of the Company.

Voice over Internet Protocol _ an emerging technology that pushes digitized voice data over broadband Internet networks _ has got more and more Mexicans using Internet phones to ring family and friends across the country and across the border into the United States.

Until recently, that lucrative telecom traffic had to rely on Slim’s Telefonos de Mexico, or Telmex. But as VoIP’s price decreases and its ease of use increases for average consumers, Telmex is expected to see its share shrink, experts say.
