Sekondi, July 20, GNA A Sekondi District Magistrates Court on Monday sentenced Sheidu Fuseini, a labourer to 18 months in imprisonment in hard labour for exchanging unused phone cards with used ones. The accused pleaded guilty to attempted stealing.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joe Hedidor, said at about 18:40 hours on July 15 this year, the accused who had no permanent place of abode, bought three pieces of phone cards at Chapel Hill in Takoradi. He said the accused cleverly exchanged the phone cards with used ones and told the vendor that the cards she gave him were used ones. Chief Inspector Hedidor said Nketiah examined the cards and detected that they were different from the ones she sold to the accused.
